Mia is going to visit her aunt in Taichung this Saturday. It is her first time taking the train alone, so she prepares everything the night before. She puts her phone, wallet, student card and a light jacket in her bag. Her mother also reminds her to arrive early.
Mia gets to the train station at 8:20 in the morning. Her train leaves at 8:45, so she still has twenty-five minutes. The station is very busy. Some people are buying breakfast, and others are waiting near the ticket machines. Mia feels a little nervous, but she tells herself to stay calm.
First, Mia buys a ticket from a machine. The ticket is 185 dollars. She checks the date and time on the ticket carefully. Then she looks at the large screen near the gate. It says her train is on Platform 3. Mia is not sure where Platform 3 is, so she asks a station worker for help.
The worker smiles and says, "Go straight and turn left after the coffee shop." Mia thanks the worker and follows the directions. On the way, she buys a bottle of water and a small sandwich. She wants to eat them on the train because the trip will take about one hour.
At 8:40, the train arrives. Mia checks the number on her ticket and finds her seat. She sends a message to her aunt: "I am on the train now. See you soon!" Mia feels proud because she can travel by herself. She looks out the window and enjoys her short trip.
