Before the trip, students need to bring a permission slip, a water bottle, a pencil, and a small notebook. They should wear comfortable shoes because they will walk for a long time. Ms. Lin says, "You do not need a big bag. Bring only what you really need."

The class also prepares three questions before the visit. Kevin wants to ask, "How old is this building?" Amy wants to know why some old dishes are behind glass. Ben wants to ask about the museum shop because he hopes to buy a postcard for his grandmother.

Ms. Lin tells the class that a field trip is not just a day away from school. It is a chance to learn from real objects, ask good questions, and practice polite English outside the classroom.

Reading 2 | Following Museum Rules

There are many signs in the museum. One sign says, "Do not touch the exhibits." Another sign says, "No food or drinks in the gallery." Kevin wants to take a photo of an old sword, but he checks the sign first. Photos are allowed in that room, but flash is not allowed.

The students listen to the guide and take notes. The guide explains that rules protect both people and objects. Some exhibits are very old and easy to damage. If many visitors speak loudly or run, other people cannot enjoy the museum.

After the first gallery, the guide changes the route because another school group is nearby. The students wait quietly and follow the new route. Ms. Lin is happy because her class shows respect for the museum and for other visitors.

Reading 3 | Asking for Help at the Museum

At the information desk, Amy speaks politely. She says, "Excuse me. I lost a blue notebook near the art gallery. Has anyone found it?" The staff member checks the lost and found box. A few minutes later, he finds Amy's notebook under a small stack of maps.

Before leaving, Amy asks one more question. She wants to know the name of her favorite exhibit. The staff member shows her the exhibit number on the map and helps her write the correct title. Amy thanks him and returns to her group.

On the bus back to school, students talk about what they learned. Kevin liked the old sword. Ben bought a postcard. Amy learned that asking for help politely is important. A good field trip teaches students facts, manners, and useful language at the same time.
