Mia and Leo go to a drink shop after school. It is hot, and they want something cold. Mia looks at the menu first. She sees green tea, black tea, milk tea, fruit tea, and many toppings. Leo wants bubble milk tea because he likes chewy pearls.
The worker asks, "What size would you like?" Mia chooses a medium green tea with half sugar and less ice. Leo chooses a large bubble milk tea with regular sugar and normal ice. Mia says, "A large drink is too much for me. I still have dinner later."
When they pay, Leo cannot find enough coins. Mia helps him count the money. The total is 110 dollars. Leo thanks Mia and says he will bring his wallet next time.
On the way home, Mia asks Leo to try half sugar next time. Leo thinks for a moment and says, "Maybe I can start with less sugar first." They both learn that ordering a drink is also a good chance to practice clear English.
On Friday, Eric buys drinks for his study group. He writes down everyone's order before he goes to the shop. Nora wants oolong tea with no sugar. Jack wants black tea with half sugar. Tina wants fruit tea with less ice because she does not want the drink to be too cold.
At the shop, Eric speaks slowly and clearly. He says, "One oolong tea, no sugar, normal ice. One black tea, half sugar, less ice. One fruit tea, light sugar, less ice." The worker repeats the orders to check them.
Eric also asks about toppings. Pearls cost ten dollars more, and aloe costs fifteen dollars more. Jack wants pearls, but Nora does not want any topping. Eric checks the total before he pays.
When Eric returns to the library, his friends are happy because the drinks are correct. Nora says, "Thank you for checking our orders." Eric learns that good communication means listening carefully and repeating important details.
Sara likes sweet drinks, but her basketball coach asks the team to drink more water. The coach says water is usually the best drink after practice. Sweet drinks may taste good, but they can add a lot of sugar.
After practice, Sara's friend asks, "Do you want a large milk tea?" Sara wants one, but she remembers the coach's advice. She says, "I will get a small tea with little sugar today. I also have my water bottle."
At the drink shop, Sara asks the worker, "Can I have less sugar, please?" The worker says yes. Sara also chooses no topping because she wants a lighter drink. Her friend tries half sugar for the first time.
Sara does not stop drinking bubble tea forever. She just makes a smarter choice. She learns that small changes, like less sugar or a smaller size, can help students enjoy drinks and care for their health.
